Psychological Testing

is the process we use to assess and understand an individual’s behavior, mental state, and cognitive abilities. It involves a combination of standardized tests, interviews, and observations to gain a comprehensive understanding of a person’s psychological functioning. The goal is often to identify potential mental health concerns, understand the root causes of symptoms, and develop appropriate treatment plans.

Diagnostic evaluation

(Comprehensive Clinical Assessment) is essential for the beginning of our treatments. It is the process we use to gather information about a person’s mental state and identify any potential mental health conditions or disorders, well-being, including their mental and emotional state, as well as their social and vocational functioning. It involves interviewing the individual, observing their behavior, and potentially using psychological tests to determine if a diagnosis is appropriate and to develop an effective treatment plan.

Parent School

is a service addressed to assist parents with children being served in Reanimations and local agencies. This service is also open to the general market to any parents or future parents, particularly those low-income parents at risk of facing challenges, including parents who are high-school dropouts, non-custodial and other single parents, parents with disabilities, and parents who are veterans.

This service is delivered to a group setting up to 20 participants, with a time-limited service to a 24-hour term and two contacts a week, by 90 minutes. This service should be provided in a classroom and online. A fundamental feature of this program is that services are provided in interactive classes as much as possible in formally structured workshops and connection to community resources; Face-to-face contacts may be subject to reasonable accommodations that are HIPAA compliant.

Therapeutic Self-Defense

is focused on developing in our consumers an essential skill that offers numerous benefits beyond just physical protection.

It enhances personal safety, builds confidence, helps protect loved ones, and improves overall fitness and health. Self-defense skills not only improve your safety, but they also reduce anxiety and fear and boost your confidence in a coordinated way, to help with recovery, but they especially provide peace of mind and hope to parents of individuals with disabilities or mental illnesses, even in the moment they are passing away, because their loved ones will be able to defend themselves. TSD provides the consumer with a strong emotional support system, fostering social interactions so they can defend themselves physically, as well as their rights and needs, thereby overcoming barriers and discrimination. A fundamental feature of this program is that services are provided in the natural environment as much as possible; Face-to-face contacts may be subject to reasonable accommodations that are HIPAA compliant; an introductory workshop for parents and adolescents will be a requirement for enrollment into this service. The interventions include preventative and therapeutic activities that will assist with skill building, relational skills, symptom monitoring, and case management functions, linking to resources, referring to other/collateral services. In this service, classes are focused on protecting consumers, either physically or verbally, against an attack, threat, or harm, or to assert oneself in a situation where one’s interests, beliefs, or actions are being questioned or challenged. It is to survive and escape without injury by deterring or stopping aggressive behavior. Moderate-intensity aerobic activity that gets the heart rate up, such as chair boxing or karate, helps people with disabilities or mental illness manage their lives, including their defenses.

Therapeutic Soccer (TSS)

utilizes soccer games to improve consumers’ mental and physical well-being, promoting socialization, confidence, and physical fitness, while also potentially aiding in the recovery from certain injuries or conditions. TSS develops a systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with mental illnesses and/or disabling conditions as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery, and well-being;

Classes are focused on activities that can be used as a form of physical therapy to improve mobility, coordination, balance, and strength, potentially aiding in the recovery from certain injuries. The movements involved, such as running, dribbling, and kicking, can improve coordination and balance. The constant running and movement in this service can increase lung capacity and enhance the body’s ability to use oxygen efficiently, helping to promote recovery in mental health treatment, as well as flushing out toxins and reducing muscle stiffness, allowing for faster recovery and return to physical activities. In these services, consumers are organized in groups of 5, based on the idea that you become the average of the five people you spend the most time with, and the following, ages 6-10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-18, 18+. Competition will be the best way to evaluate our patients’ progress in their treatments. The competitions are pentathlons that include five types of competitive events, reflecting real-life scenarios, where teams of 5 members compete, and each team must have at least one member with motor problems who experiences difficulties with movement, coordination, and muscle control due to neurological conditions, injuries, or congenital issues. Upon completion of treatment, the patient can choose to continue playing therapeutic soccer in the Reanimations league. They can even become certified as a therapeutic mentor and work helping other patients.

Physical Work Capacity (PWC)

is a test that Reanimations adds for the beginning of our treatments, to assess the consumer’s maximum physical abilities and overall function by determining if the consumer can handle the physical demands of our therapeutic physical services, which involve walking or other physical activities while carrying a load, simulating these activities’ demands.

Cardiac Stress Tests

are used to assess how well the consumer’s heart works during our therapeutic physical activities. It helps determine if the consumer’s heart can handle the workload of exercise and can reveal problems that might not be apparent at rest.

Therapeutic image, Dance/Performance

foster a strong therapeutic relationship, encourage active consumer participation, and promote positive outcomes by addressing emotional, mental, and behavioral challenges, ultimately leading to improved well-being and quality of life.

Body image is a term that may refer to a person’s perception of their physical appearance or the internal sense of having a body, which is interpreted by the brain. Body image is the combination of thoughts, perceptions, and attitudes a person has about their physical appearance. It’s not just how you see yourself when you look in the mirror, but how you feel about yourself when confronted with that image. These services can help break down the stigma associated with mental health conditions by demonstrating that individuals can participate in a fun and engaging activity. This service is designed to overcome those barriers and give people with difficulties the best chance of effective treatment. The stigmatization of mental illness has been recognized as one of the major barriers to addressing the mental health gap. Addressing mental health stigma is important in creating access to effective treatment.

Image Evaluation

is the second test that Reanimations adds for the beginning of our treatments, being a process of assessing the consumer’s image quality, meaning, and appropriateness to achieve recovery in their treatment. It involves analyzing visual elements, considering the image’s source and context, and understanding potential interpretations. This is considering how different audiences may interpret the image and the potential implications of its message, towards improving their skills and understanding their strengths and weaknesses.
